Poll: Bush Disapproval Ratings At All-Time High

The latest CBS News poll finds George Bush's approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 34% (disapproval rating of 66%), while pessimism about the Iraq war has risen to a new high.

Bush is expected to come up with another phony emergency to divert attention from his incompetent performance. He already used the fabricated orange/yellow alert scam so it will have to be something new.

Perhaps he will allow Medicare to cover faith healing. Or appoint a neo-Nazi head of the B'nai B'rith. Or have intelligent design covered in the SATs. Or appoint Barbara Bush director of HUD. Or appoint Karl Rove professor of Ethics at Yale. Or hire Dick Cheney as a rifle instructor in the army. Or perhaps he'll just conduct business as usual. Something is bound to come up.

Americans are also overwhelmingly opposed to the Bush-backed deal giving a Dubai-owned company operational control over six major U.S. ports. Seven in 10 Americans, including 58 percent of Republicans, say they're opposed to the agreement.

In a separate poll, two out of three Americans said they do not think President Bush has responded adequately to the needs of Katrina victims. Only 32 percent approve of the way President Bush is responding to those needs, a drop of 12 points from last September’s poll, taken just two weeks after the storm made landfall.

I don't know what they're complaining about. Didn't Barbara Bush welcome everyone with open arms to the Hotel Astrodome?

Most Americans say the president does not care much about people like themselves.

In a bright spot for the administration, most Americans appeared to have heard enough about Vice President Dick Cheney's hunting accident. But a majority also said the Cheney jokes should keep coming. The incident appears to have made the public's already negative view of Cheney a bit more so. Just 18 percent said they had a favorable view of the vice president, down from 23 percent in January.

Only problem with this is, 61% of these same people have no clue what they are talking about when it comes to the port issue. Check out Rasmussen's poll, which I'm sure you did, which shows the ignorance of the people when it comes to the security.

So who's fault is that? Big media and jumping the gun politicians spewing out sound bites w/ false claims about this deal.

  2. If people have no clue (which I really disagree with) it really doesn't matter. If the American people are uncomfortable having the UAE control our ports, that should be enough for this adminstration to cancel the deal.

I personally think Bush did exactly what was needed. Anything that brings the downfall of this criminal a little closer is a good thing.

There is a reason we elect officials and we don't have a true democracy.

The UAE would not be controlling security, nor any of the other countries that operate 30% of our ports. That's the misinformation that the people are against. Tell the people the truth w/out all the demagoging (sp?) and see what happens.

"Anything that brings the downfall of this criminal a little closer is a good thing."

People like you throw criminal around like you know what you are talking about. I laugh out loud every time I see it written.

  4. The U.S. Coast Guard previously told the Bush administration that it had serious national security concerns about this deal.

Anyone who starts an illegal war is a criminal. Anyone who accepts money from drug and energy companies and then passes favorable legislation is a criminal. Anyone who knowingly destroys the environment is a criminal. Anyone who reveals the identity of an undercover CIA agent is a criminal (and a traitor).

I don't laugh out loud at people like you who delude themselves. I feel very, very sad.

"Anyone who starts an illegal war is a criminal."

You mean, anyone who starts a war you don't agree with.

"Anyone who accepts money from drug and energy companies and then passes favorable legislation is a criminal."

Yes, and all the other politicians are squeaky clean. You're going to have to clear the whole lot of them if you claim this.

"Anyone who knowingly destroys the environment is a criminal."

    *sigh*

"Anyone who reveals the identity of an undercover CIA agent is a criminal (and a traitor)."

Considering she was not an undercover agent to begin, you're going to have to start that argument over.

As for revealing stuff, why don't you start with Pat Leahy.

No... if you invade a sovereign country for no reason other than oil, it's illegal.

"Yes, and all the other politicians are squeaky clean. You're going to have to clear the whole lot of them if you claim this."

Of course and that's what we intend to do.

"Anyone who knowingly destroys the environment is a criminal."

I assume by that non-answer that you, like all republicans, don't give a shit about the environment.

Do your research before you spout nonsense. She was an undercover agent at the time her husband was in Africa disproving Bush's lies. If she wasn't undercover, then what was all the fuss about?

You do realize that nobody has been convicted of anything? Not even Libby. He's being convicted on perjury, not this.

It was a non-answer because all of what you said is empty rhetoric.

Go to this site and then tell me if it is man destroying the planet.

This is not right wing anything, just facts.

  8. A web site about a volcano? How old are you? How can you compare nature disasters to someone actively destroying our environment?

Read the book "Crimes Against Nature" by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and then tell me about empty rhetoric.

Education makes you go far. I thought you were right on everything, Jeff?

I'll make this simple for you: The emission output from that volcanic blast was greater than any of the emissions industrial man has created. And that all happened in one day.

As for Robert Kennedy, let me know when he stops using private planes and SUVs before I start listening to anything he has to say.

  11. I am sorry you are so blind to the world around you. It's people like you that have put the current crop of mad men in power.

Why don't you believe in doing all we can to fix the environment that George Bush broke? Oh, I see... the big bad volcano erupted so why bother.

And Robert Kenneedy gave up his SUV but you wouldn't know that since you are so ignorant of the facts.

I never said I was anti-environment, BTW. But once you get past the, "it's all George Bush's fault" idiocy, then maybe some sanity will prevail. But until then, you Kos will continue to fall on deaf ears.

The only deaf ears are yours.

Bush overturned 300 of Bill Clinton's environmental regulations.

He allowed strip mining to increase causing the Buffalo Creek Massacre.

    He increased mountaintop removal.

He allowed 1000s of acres of deforestation.

He increased toxic dumping by the coal industry.

I could go on and on but then you wouldn't have anything left to learn on your own.

If you believe the earth to be 10,000 years old or over a billion there is one fact that remains: We only have a little over 100 years of scientific and weather data in which to make these environmental claims. That would either be a 0.01% or a 0.0000001% of time period of knowing this earth. Either way, the percentage is quite low.

So it is quite a leap of faith to prove that man (who is neither powerful enough to create nor destroy this earth)is the cause of "problems" on the earth when we have very, very little data on which to base anything.

    These are not claims.
These are facts. Bush has done these thing. Of this, there is no doubt.

    Read instead of pontificate.
